Payments received after either options' deadline will accrue interest beginning the day following the deadlines. For example, if half of the payment due is not received by February 28, and full payment is not posted thereafter by April 30, delinquent interest will be charged on the first half which then becomes past due as of March 1. This only applies if the taxpayer pays half of the tax bill anytime before June 15. If the full payment is made after April 30, interest will begin to accrue as of May 1st and then on the first day of each subsequent month.
If your tax payment made by credit card, check or e-check is returned unpaid for any reason by your financial institution, your tax obligation will change from paid status to unpaid (outstanding), and will be subject to applicable late payment penalties and costs, if the payment is delinquent.
A $20.00 non-sufficient funds/returned payment fee is passed on to all returned payments.
