FDA Food Code Transition

On November 5, 2017, the State of Colorado adopted the 2013 FDA Food Code, with an 
Food Code Map Logoimplementation date of January 1, 2019.  The FDA Food Code is a model for safeguarding public health and ensuring food is unadulterated and honestly presented when offered to the consumer.  It represents FDA’s best advice for a uniform system of provisions addressing safety and protection of food offered at retail and in food service. 

The adoption of the Food Code includes some operational changes for retail food establishments, the most significant of which are communicated in the following presentation:

Food Protection Manager Training

At least one employee with authority to direct and control food preparation and service shall be a food protection manager who has been certified by an accredited program.
Only conference for Food Protection ANSI certified Food Protection Manager courses meet the requirements of 2-102.20
